Holy cow!!! The first weekend of the Texas Renaissance Festival was great and Saturday was really crowded. I stepped out of character and went as a Monk. Yes, me a Monk. I had a great time, wine, chocolate, Iris & Rose, good friends, OK, great friends. Only thing I saw that bummed me was the prices went up quite a bit for things inside. My Vampire Merlot that I paid $22 for last year was $30 this year. Then, my trusty little back up camera needed a backup. Yep, it crapped out on me with a few bad files on the chip. But overall it was a really good weekend. Thank you Capt. Spikey Crotch for giving me refuge upon your ship friday night, and thanks to Miss R. for giving me the table bed on saturday night. I had my own tent but turned out to just be a changing room. Someday I will find an RV so I can help others in tents, out of them. Anyway, I will be returning to TRF soon and hope to see EVERYONE there.
OMG, the Bristol Renaissance Faire was awesome. The garb that the cast wore was amazing. The shows the cast put on, and I don't mean small acts but large musical, choreographed numbers, were amazing to see. This faire, to me, ranks right up there with Scarborough among faires that must be seen to be believed. The grounds were like a rolling forest, yet easy to navigate. There was no certain laid out pattern for the streets of the village which was very cool. You could just wander aimlessly. I loved it.
So, now in 2008 I have been to Four Winds, Scarborough, Colorado, and Bristol. Next on the agenda is Middlefaire, then onto TRF, and hopefully LARF. I hope to see some of my friends at these faires.
Well, this year is flying by because I am keeping so busy. I decided since I had turned 40 this year, I was going all out on faires. So far, I have been to Four Winds, Scarborough, Colorado, and the Rendependance Joust. I am now preparing for the Bristol Renaissance Faire. I am really excited about this one. Then on to Middlefaire, TRF and LARF. I hope I see you there.
Greetings everyone. I have been away from Renspace for a while, but now I am back. Four Winds Faire has opened back up for the 2008 season and we are having a blast. The third weekend was busy busy busy. So far this year, we have had rennies from all over come up, we have the French Court o King Francois and HRM Queen Eleanor, and we have even had the English Court of Elizabeth I. Each weekend there is some kind of special event to keep us busy. This year I have been able to attend the court dancing and I am having a great time with it. I am really looking forward to the Queens Masked Ball, or is it masqued, whatever, it is going to be fun. So, come join us at Four Winds any weekend and come to the Ball. It is sure to be a hit.
Well, another season of the Four Winds Faire is in the history books. We had a wonderful time, even when freezing our buttocks off, and WE HAD SNOW!!!! What a day that was. Well, now it is onward to Scarborough Faire and just being a playtron. I hope to see everyone there. If you are planning on going, let me know what day so we can meet and have a drink. Huzzah and onward to Scarborough!!!
